Waterfront Real Estate on Lake Wylie in 2020

Wow, Lake Wylie’s Waterfront Real Estate market has been insane! This year has been a roller coaster for everyone. 2020 has not been easy on anyone. The ever changing Corona Virus rules and regulations were exhausting to keep up with. The business closures and scary Covid numbers were heartbreaking. Kids couldn’t finish the 2019 school year. Almost everything seemed to be closed all summer long.

What didn’t close? The Lake and people realized that quickly.

Lake Wylie saw a massive increase in traffic. The lake was packed all summer long with new and old boaters alike.

Waterfront Real estate on Lake Wylie in 2020 was a roller coaster as well! We started the selling season with being shut down completely in March and real estate agents weren’t allowed to show homes in person (at least on the NC side of the lake). Sellers were worried about the housing market. Agents were too!

Then buyers started realizing the lake never shuts down. If you live on the lake, you’ll always have family entertainment right out your back door. Buyers were coming in masses, from all over the country! Showings on waterfront homes went up dramatically in July/August. People seemed to want to dump the city life for more space (both from a lot size standpoint and a home size).

When August rolled around and schools weren’t opening back up, it became a mad dash. Waterfront homes on the lake are at an all time high price, and all going under contract faster than ever.

Most agents (like me) have many buyers lined up and waiting for the right property to hit the market. We are just waiting on properties to come on the market.

The inventory is at an all time low!

If you’re looking to sell, you need to reach out to us to discuss your strategy for listing. Remember, waterfront homes are a specific type of real estate. You should employ an agent that is specifically focused on waterfront real estate.
